I am a licensed mental health counselor associate in the state of Washington. In 2009, I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. I always knew that my goal was to help people someday. During my undergraduate years I dabbled in neuroscience for a bit where I worked in labs that researched drug use, schizophrenia, and stress. After working in a neurosciene lab for 6 years I realized that my true passion was in working with people. This prompted me to return to school and complete my Masters in Counseling Psychology. I graduated in 2017 from Northwest University in Kirkland , Washington. For approximately 4 years I worked in community mental health first as an intern and then as an employee. Although at times the work was challenging I owe my greatest experience to this population.
I enjoy using a variety of different modalities to help people but some of my favorites are CBT, EMDR, and DBT. My approach is depth oriented and I find value in understanding the root of behaviors since this often precipitates change.
Had I not gone through my own personal pains and struggles in life I probably would not be where I am today. My journey in healing from narcissistic abuse and codependency has pushed me to learn and grow in ways I never knew possible. It has forced me to be brutally honest with myself and to gain a greater understanding of how my story got me to where I am this very day. It is because of this that my greatest challenge and my greatest joy is in the work that I do. Seeing people grow and change is one of those things that brings out the beauty in life that we often don’t see. I hope to empower men and women of all kinds to start believing in themselves, their lives, and their worth so that they too can live the best lives possible.
